The history of this family is truly amazing. Floyd and Charlotte wandered all over the country and even into Cuba in their pursuit of happiness.
Their record is well preserved by their family letters and by the number of places they stopped. They were productive, inventive, risk takers, and achievers. They had a strong family bond. They supported one another. They were a family to be admired.

Floyd died April 5, 1919, in Billings, Montana, of liver cancer. The body was returned to South Wayne, Wisconsin, and buried at Eastman Cemetery. Charlotte died May 31, 1924, in Sheffield, Alabama, and was buried next to him.
